Bienvenido F Villadolid

Bienvenido F. Villadolid age 91, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, November 15, 2019. His journey began on March 22, 1928 in Nasugbu, Batangas in the Philippines with his parents Paulina and Juan. As the eldest, he grew up in the same hometown with his siblings, Julito, Mike, Renato, and Mila. He aspired to be a doctor but changed careers to support the family and achieved a Bachelor's degree in Marketing Communications at the University of Santo Tomas. He excelled in his career and proudly worked at Shell Oil and Iligan Cement in the Philippines. He met the love of his life Adora (aka Oyette, who preceded him in death in 2010) in Manila and married on July 26, 1969. He and his “mahai” (beloved) lived in the suburbs and had 4 kids he fondly named his “3 Marias and 1 Juan”: Maria Arameia (Mei), Maria Cleofas (Cel), Maria Cherryl, and Juan Antonio. In 1987, Ben and Adora went on a great adventure and immigrated the whole family to the United States. They settled in Bolingbrook, IL and built a brand new life. Ben went back to work and quickly found success in sales once again. He would eventually retire as a top associate at Sears in the early 2000s. In retirement, he found joy in taking care of his grandkids and traveling across the US and Canada. He loved jazz music and would dabble in playing it on the piano himself, even though he couldn’t read notes. He was known as the “piano man” in his residences. He loved collecting hats from his many travels and was an avid Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune fan. Ben took great pride in all his children, his sons in law Deane, Mike, and Jimmy and daughter-in-law Annie. He was mainly a quiet man, but he was always quick to boast about any of his grandchildren’s accomplishments. He can talk anyone's ears off about Jonathan’s rock star antics, Alex and William’s swimming achievements, Karina’s latest ninja competition, Mason’s violin performance, Benjamin’s latest tae kwon do belt, and Nina’s latest words. He found so much joy in watching them all grow up. Through it all, Ben maintained his faith in the Lord and yearned to be near his “mahai.” He was finally called home on November 15, 2019. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 20, 3:00PM until 8:00PM with a prayer service at 6:00pm. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, November 21 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, everyone is to meet at the church for 10:00AM Mass.
