Elizabeth Jane Krotz

Betty Jane Krotz passed away Dec 8, 2014 at Edward Hospital. She was born second of four children to Archie and Dorothy Raphael of St. Cloud, Minnesota. She is survived by siblings Marilyn Schwartz, Dorothy Ann DeZiel, and Jimmy Raphael. Betty is loved and deeply missed by her twin daughters Kim Memishi and Kelly Mincemeyer, and their husbands E.P and Dave. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Jimmy and Elle Memishi and Nicholas and Matthew Mincemeyer. As a nurse, Betty was caring and compassionate. She worked with Vietnam Veterans when she worked in Colorado, where she also met her husband and lifelong partner Ken. She was married in Minnesota and had her twin daughters in St Paul. She then moved to the Chicago area where she raised her children. Betty worked tirelessly nights at Colonial Manor, so she could be home during the day to support and care for her daughters. Betty loved seeing her daughters graduate college, get married, and have those grandchildren she could spoil. Betty looked forward to birthdays and holidays and always looked for that special trinket or gift that had special meaning. Betty enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. Betty had back problems and bronchitis, but when she would see those flashing lights at the casino, it seemed as though she could sprint the mile in excitement at the chance of winning big. Betty was the biggest cheerleader at her grandkids' sporting events and always looked forward to family weddings and reunions. She also loved rooting for the Minnesota Vikings. Betty loved listening to Elvis tunes, Blake Shelton/country music, and watching the "Voice" on TV. Ken.....Betty's husband passed away on July 18, 2013. The loss of her devoted companion and friend left a void in Betty's heart. Ken was cremated, but knew Betty thought the idea of cremation was somewhat morbid. As Betty always expressed her wishes to be buried but wanted to be together, Ken would often joke about being "buried at her feet". Betty's daughters, while not "burying Dad at Mom's feet" , will be placing Dad's urn at her side so that they can eternally rest in peace together. While Betty leaves many family members heartbroken at her unexpected passing, please be at peace that she will be joining her husband, mother, and father in heaven. Betty will be dearly missed, but would not want us to be sad at her passing. She would want us to celebrate her life. Think of her as a guardian angel loving, supporting, and adoring all those she touched.
