Larry C. Huffman

Larry Carnell Huffman, 69, of Bolingbrook, IL. passed away peacefully at home Thursday morning, August 6, 2020. He was surrounded by loved ones. Larry was born May 14, 1951 in Glasgow, Ky to Lawrence Huffman Jr. and Velma Travis Huffman. On June 4, 1971 he married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Bush Huffman and began married life in their hometown of Glasgow, Ky. They were happily married 49 years. Larry had a long career in the Ink and Printing Industry. His work over the years allowed Cheryl and Larry to establish homes in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois. He ended his career April 20th when he retired as a Senior Lab Technician in Research and Development from INX International in Bolingbrook, IL. Larry loved the Lord and faithfully served as a Sunday School Bible Study Teacher and Chairman of the Deacon Board at New Hope Baptist Church in Bolingbrook, IL. Larry was not only a willing servant at church, he was the spiritual leader of his family, who he loved dearly and provided for generously. Being a husband, parent, grandparent and great grandparent was his joy. To his grand and great grand-children, he was their treasured PaPa. He enjoyed giving them fun nicknames like “the real KB”, “Camaro”, “Big Buddy”, “Big Gamer”, “Chaser Jones”, “Little Buddy”. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking on the grill for family and friends. Always athletic, he loved biking, racquetball, tennis and golf. Anytime an activity brought the family together was a great day for Larry. He is survived by his wife Cheryl of 49 years, son Toriano, daughters Devonna and Leandra; sisters Sheila, Marquitta and Margaretta, brother Danny; grandchildren, Brittane, Torian, Chase, KaMiah, Ahliyah, Aaron, Brandon and Blake; great-grandchildren Nylah, Kaebri, Khadir and Kaleem and many loving nieces, nephews, sister and brother in laws, friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Velma Huffman and a sister, Charlotte Mattingly. As described in Micah 6:8, Larry acted justly, loved mercy, and walked humbly with the Lord.
