Mr. Larry Johnson Jr.

If there is a joke to be told or a laugh to be had, you could find Larry right in the middle of the fun. But don’t let the silliness fool you because at the core of this “silly guy” was an intellectual, spiritual, and deeply emotional man. Larry could tell you a joke, while explaining how to fix your computer, empathize with you over your relationship problems, and then give you a scripture to settle it all. Larry held many positions for those he loved including but not limited to: Uncle Larry’s Daycare for Chloe and MJ, Larry Food Packing and Laundry Service for his mother, Virginia, and Larry’s Phone Therapy for countless. His magnetic personality drew people from all walks of life. No matter the situation, he was able to find the good in others. Larry Johnson Jr. was born to the union of Larry Sr. and Virginia Johnson on December 16, 1981 in Chicago, IL. He is eldest son born to this union. Larry’s parents began raising him and his two younger brothers on the Westside of Chicago. Larry accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized at New St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Walter Crockran. He attended St Angela for elementary school and then entered Weber Catholic High School. In 1996 concerned with the safety of their sons, Larry’s parents moved their family to Bolingbrook, IL where he transferred to Bolingbrook High School and later graduated in 1999. Larry’s love of technology caused him to pursue a degree at DeVry University. While attending, DeVry he began working at Sprint, this began his multi-faceted career providing technical support and IT functions for numerous companies. He was very adventurous in his career often seeking new opportunities and learning new skillsets that would produce more opportunities. Larry departed this life on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in Bolingbrook, IL. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Leotha Stevenson and his paternal grandmother Queen Esther Johnson. Larry leaves behind to cherish his memories: his parents, Larry Sr. & Virginia Johnson of Bolingbrook, IL; three brothers Christopher (Channon) Johnson, and Marcus Johnson of Bolingbrook, IL, Korey (Paris) Taylor of Chicago, IL; his grandfathers Robert Johnson, Willie Swift both of Chicago, IL; 4 uncles Norris Stevenson, Keith Johnson, Chris Johnson, and Ronald Johnson of Chicago, IL; a special cousin/sister Tamara Starks of Bloomington, IL; five nephews, three nieces, and a host cousins, and friends. Larry lived his life the way he believed God wanted him to live it: full of love, forgiveness, and loyalty for family, friends, and neighbors. Visitation is Wednesday, May 28, 2014 5:00PM until time of service at 7:00 PM. Cremation private.
