Christine Ann (Shea) Styles, 70, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, passed away at home on Friday, February 19, 2021, following a brave battle with cancer. Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, Christine was the loving wife of Michael J. Styles, with whom she shared forty-eight years of love and marriage. She is survived by her husband Michael, her son, Joshua A. Styles and his wife Lynda of Bath, Maine, and her son Douglas J. Styles and his fiancée, Nicole Phelps, of Naperville. Christine is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Shea) Martz, and her husband Jack, of Staten Island, NY, her sister-in-law Mary (Styles) Alvarado and her husband, Ruben Alvarado, of Bensenville, her brother in law, Charles Styles and his wife Mari Lou of Bolingbrook, and her sister-in-law Patricia Shea Knudsen of Buford, GA. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Natalie and Liam Styles, of Bath, Maine, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins in Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, and Georgia, as well as many close and wonderful friends in the Bolingbrook area. Christine was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Lydia (Glebus) Shea, of Beverly, Massachusetts, and her older brother, Brian Shea, formerly of Beverly, MA and Lawrenceville, Georgia. Christine was a beloved Montessori teacher at Dupage Montessori School in Naperville. She shared her warmth, positivity, love, and passion for education with children in the classroom for over thirty years. Prior to becoming a teacher, she provided a home day care, touching the lives of many children and families. Christine was a board member and consultant of the Field Museum’s Crown Family Playlab, an interactive educational exhibit of which she was so extremely proud to have worked on. She often traveled to the Field Museum to bring artifacts and educational opportunities to her students. Christine was also very active with the LDS church, serving four years as the Relief Society President, which provides needed support for adult women. Christine was known for her positivity and her warm smile. She was a welcoming, intelligent, and kind soul who cared greatly about education, service to God and Jesus, genealogy, literature, the history and future of America, and she was often vocal and passionate about politics. She loved the ocean and spent many summer days on the beaches of Gloucester, Massachusetts, with her beloved sister and family, enjoying local seafood, walks on the beach, ice cream, and shopping. Christine was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs. Christine was a generous soul, always finding the right way to give and make people feel loved, welcomed, included, and special. Visitation Friday February 26th from 4:00pm until time of service 5:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints , 7201 Woodridge Drive, Woodridge, IL. 60517 Interment Wheatland Township cemetery (Naperville) pending.
