Leonard Parsons

Leonard Parsons was born on September 10, 1940 in Jasper, Indiana to Elvis and Delma Parsons. The youngest of three siblings, he is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lois (Raymond) Howell, of Indiana. He is survived by his brother Glenn (Patricia) Parsons of Virginia. Leonard passed away on May 27th, 2020 after a prolonged illness. Leonard was the loving husband of Bonnie Jean of 57 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his three children Lori Harris, Judy (Doug) King, and James (Suzette) Parsons. He will be greatly missed and rest in the hearts of his nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren: Stephen Harris and his children Stephen Jr, Samson & Margeaux. Drahcir Harris and his children Camila, D.J., & Kelani Allie (Stephen) Pearson and their son Hunter and Nicholas (Morgan) Hardy. James Parsons, Gabrielle Parsons, and Samantha Parsons Garrett (Jennifer) King and their children Jaxon and Matthew; and Jordan King and her daughter Peyton. Leonard was a hardworking, dedicated family man who prided himself on only missing two days of work in his career as a tool and die setter that lasted nearly 50 years. Leonard enjoyed watching sports, including NASCAR, golf, football, and baseball (Go Cubs!). What he absolutely loved was watching his grandchildren participate in sports: cheerleading, baseball, softball, basketball, and football. If they had a game or competition, he always found a way to be there for them. Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Covid-19, and for the safety of the family, there will be a private interment held at Chapel Lawn Cemetery (Crown Point, IN) at a later date.
