Maria Dominga Spears lost her 2 yr battle against pancreatic cancer with courage, dignity and grace. She was 72. Maria was a kind and compassionate health care professional for over 40 years, of which she has had an impactful and meaningful career. She treated young adults suffering from psychiatric disorders early in her career. Later, she was accomplished and held in high regard by both her employers and peers in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs for her vast knowledge in the field of dementia care administration and physical care of dementia patients. In her twilight years she worked as a part time sales associate for Hartz homes. Maria is survived by her loving sons; Thomas Spears, Christopher Spears, and Patrick Spears, daughter in-love Sonia Mcclinton, brother David Bugg, sister Teresa Bugg, nephews Jason Bugg, Montez Bugg, Anthony Martin, Nicolas Martin, granddaughters Angelique Spears, Azia Williams, and Yameah Spears, great grandchildern Sundai Jones, Keenan Williams Jr., Kaylani Williams, and Keemoni Williams, beloved friends Mike and Phyllis Haskin, Charles and Debra Decurie, and Robert and Jean West. Maria was married to her husband, the late Otis Spears. She will be forever loved and missed by all that knew her. Hobbies: - Avid reader of fiction (especially Stephen King). - Scrabble and other word game enthusiast. - Enjoyed a nice wine with friends and making delicious meals for her family. Inurnment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home.
