Adrienne C. Ahern was born on December 12th of 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. Adrienne spent her youth in Chicago and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University in 1965. It was during her time at DePaul that she met the love of her life, Gregory Ahern. After graduating from college Adrienne began her work as a school teacher, which she continued until she made the decision to devote herself full time to her family. Adrienne was a beloved wife to Gregory for 56 years. She was also a cherished mother of five boys, Gregory Jr. (Lisa), Eric (Lauren), Christopher (Cassie), Mark (Kristina), and Adam (Lauren). Adrienne was over the moon to gain the daughters she had long awaited through five beautiful family weddings. Later in life she was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Elsa, Maeve, Avery, Trevor, Cameron, Jacoby, Harrison, Emmett, Macy, Emily, and Olivia. Adrienne was also the loving sister to the late Elaine (late Florian) Wasik and Esther Boyer, the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews, cousin to many, and missed by all.
Her family was paramount and her ultimate joy in life. Adrienne was an avid athlete in her youth and as a result she threw her energy into her sons' sporting careers. She was present at the countless sporting events they participated in throughout their lives to cheer them on win or lose. This spirit of championing her sons did not end with their sporting careers. She was there in their corner to cheer them on throughout all the ups and downs of their lives. She continued to demonstrate her endless devotion and boundless love in her relationship with her grandchildren. She was always present and dedicated to family above all else.
Adrienne was a devoted and proud wife, Mom, and Grandmother. Her spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those who have had the privilege to know and love her.
