On Thursday March 21st, 2019, Alissa VonderHaar, loving daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 31.
Alissa was known for her quick wit, bubbly personality, goofy spirit and kind compassionate heart. She was extremely passionate about health and wellness and went to extreme lengths to eat right and exercise hard. Soccer was her life, she lived and breathed soccer. To watch her play was an awesome, amazing and beautiful experience. Alissa's competitiveness and drive defined her character and success. Those who knew her would say that her inner and outer beauty and spirit were second to none. Everyone that met Alissa idolized and admired her for her strength and confidence.
Alissa loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her favorites included her nephew Ryan, her dog Neekah and her sister Laura.
She loved the holidays, but Christmas was her absolute favorite. She would count the number of days until Christmas all year long. To her, Christmas music was appropriate all year long (Hanson and Pentatonix on repeat), and onesie pajamas on Christmas eve were a must.
She was known for the weirdest eating habits: 99% fat free turkey, brussel sprouts, broccoli, natural peanut butter with the oily nut topping, picking the nuts off the top of Jewel Osco muffins and picking macadamia nuts out of cookies. She put salsa and fat free ranch dressing on everything. Popcorn powder ranch salt, pumpkin spice and Extra polar ice gum were staples in her purse.
We will be eternally grateful for having been given the opportunity to share, love and treasure our time with Alissa.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, we ask that you donate to a Go Fund Me that we created in order to specifically support the treatment facilities that influenced Alissa's life the most. The link is as follows:

For memorial services our family has chosen to do an immediate family only ceremony. We will hold a "celebration of life" gathering in 3-4 months from now which will be open to everyone. Details for that gathering are TBD and will be posted at a later date.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
