Obituary

Amy Lynn Rickett (née Parkhurst), 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026
after a hard-fought battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.

Amy was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on May 16th, 1965 to Donald and Jean Parkhurst.
Along with her older sister Ann, Amy and her parents made many moves across the country due to her dad's job (Wisconsin, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Illinois).
Although she loved things about each place she lived, she always felt the strongest connection
to her home state of Wisconsin.
She loved her cheese curds and cheered on the Packers every game, although recently she was mainly watching to get a glimpse of Coach Matt Lafleur.

Her family moved to Illinois where she graduated from Bolingbrook High School in 1983. Here she met the father of her children, Paul French, whom she married and spent 16 years with followed by great friendship and co-parenting. After high school, she attended beauty school which she then went on to teach upon graduation. She was a hairdresser for many years. She eventually found herself working as a customer service representative for an auto body shop the last 25 years. She was the perfect smiling face to greet customers. She sure could light up a room!

Amy was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She is survived by her mother Jean Parkhurst of Eau Claire, WI, daughter Anna French of Bolingbrook, IL , son Donnie (Kaitlynd) French of Joliet, IL, grandchildren Myles, Olivia, and Dexter, the father of her children Paul French of Bolingbrook, IL and many other friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her sister Ann Parkhurst and her father Donald Parkhurst, as well as her grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Her strength, courage, and love for her family carried her through this battle to the end. We would like to sincerely thank the incredible team at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care for their compassionate care, guidance, and emotional support. Their kindness brought comfort not only to her, but to our entire family during a difficult time.

Visitation and funeral service will be held at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home on Monday April 6, 2026. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm followed by a service at 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate donations in Amy's memory to help support the
