On January 7, 2024, we said goodbye to Ashok Kumar, a thoughtful and loving husband, father, and
grandfather. Ashok's faith, courage to persevere, and his positive approach to life continues to inspire
us.
Ashok was born in Amritsar, Punjab to Sukhdev and Lila Vati on February 7, 1947. He graduated from
Amritsar Medical College in 1969, and then embarked on his journey to the United States to begin his
medical training at Swedish Covenant and Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
In 1972, he married Braham, and they started their life together by establishing their roots in the
western suburbs of Chicago where they joined a close community of friends and raised their family.
Ashok also began his nearly 44-year career in internal medicine at the Glen Ellyn Clinic, which became
the DuPage Medical Group. He was one of the founding members of DuPage Medical Group.
Ashok is remembered for his sense of humor, love for learning, computers, and passion for movies and
music.
He is survived by his wife Braham; daughters Vani (Ram) and Aditi; granddaughter Kavya, and siblings
Jiwan and Vinod.
Ashok will be deeply missed for his kindness, lighthearted nature, and wisdom.
