Dr. Babu Rao Surapaneni (7/4/1942– 12/13/2022)

Dr. Babu Rao Surapaneni (81) passed away on December 13, 2022.

Dr. Rao as he was fondly known, was born in Gudivada to Venkateswara Rao Surapaneni and Savitri Surapaneni.

After his medical studies at JH Medical School in Belgaum, India, Dr. Rao moved to the United States with his wife, Usha Rani, and first born son, Krishna Kiran in 1974.

Dr. Rao worked tirelessly to build a life in the Chicago area for his family. He worked in the surgical department at Hinsdale Hospital for 25 years and retired in 2016. He was well loved by the team there.

Dr. Rao enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, exercising, listening to the radio, and following the Chicago sports teams.

Dr. Rao was the beloved husband of Usha Rani Surapaneni, loving father of Krishna Kiran Surapaneni, Hari Charan Surapaneni, and Dr. Sushma (Pavit) Surapaneni Anand, dear brother of Swarajayalakshmi (Jaya Surapaneni) Adusumilli, fond uncle of Sai Prasanna and Sai Supriya, cousin and friend to many, and missed by all.

Dr. Babu Rao Surapaneni was very well loved by his family and friends and will be missed dearly.
