Barbara was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, friend and caregiver. She worked for both Chicago and Aurora Board of Election Commissioners. Barbara was strong, generous, and caring to name a few of her amazing traits. She loved to travel and see the world, she loved taking walks in parks with relaxing scenery, and most of all; she loved taking care of her loved ones.
The Gift
You have worked so hard
Over the years.
Finishing your classes
With all your peers.
With me in your belly
You did not stop.
A child for your birthday
The ultimate prop.
You were so young
Never taking a dive.
When you could have packed your bags
To run off and hide.
With your back to the wall
You kept throwing your punches.
Now these days we have champagne brunches.
And to you I give the greatest toast.
For doing the best
And making the most
Out of situations that could have been bad.
A mom, her child that with no dad.
But as you know this was just the start.
A relationship built straight from the heart.
To you my mom you've passed the test.
Giving me wisdom.
Keeping me blessed.
