Carneil Carter, Jr. made his transition on March 7, 2025.
Carneil was surrounded by family at this time. He was lovingly cared for by his wife,
Concercria Gladney-Carter (Connie) and her children: Johnathan Gladney, Sherita Jackson,
Shatora Castellanos (Louis) and grandchildren: Dasia, Jemal, Jemarion, Cristen,
Tristen, L'Mya and Miracle. Connie and Carneil were married on July 17, 2010.
Carneil loved Connie's family as his own, which was reflected in their precious care for him during his illness.
Earlier in life, Carneil was blessed with other children that will miss him dearly: Dr. Stephen Carter M.D. (Wilma), Arlene Williams, Carneil Carter, III (preceded in death) and Shaun Carter. And grandchildren: Brandon (Haley) Williams, Bria Williams and Chasity Carter.
Carneil was a proud uncle to The Honorable General William Walker (LaVern), Vincent Walker (Robin), Karen Walker and T'Keyah Keymah. Carneil had the privilege of being an integral element of their upbringing and they will remember him fondly.
Carneil graduated from Englewood High School and Washburn Trade School. He was an assett and a member of Local #134 Electrician's Union. He enjoyed a long career as one of the premier electricians in the Chicagoland area. Carneil was one of the first African American foremen in his professional field.
Preceded in death are Carneil's parents, Mary Louise Zeno Carter and Carneil Carter, Sr., along with his sister Arlene L. Carter-Walker. We trust and believe that they had their arms open wide as they welcomed their son and brother to their realm of existence.
