Clifford Francis Mahoney, a proud United States Army Veteran, age 72, of Sterling, IL, passed away on June 14, 2026. Clifford is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia E. Mahoney; his parents, Frank and Beatrice Mahoney; his brothers, Charles “Chuck” Mahoney and James Mahoney; and his sisters, Denise Beck and Carole Mahoney.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Valarie. He was the loving father of Michele "Shelly" Morgan and her husband, First Sergeant Larry Morgan, United States Army Retired; and Julie (Chuka) Mahoney.

He was the proud Papa of Kierra Preston of Austin, Texas; Joseph Korner of Edmond, Oklahoma; Staff Sergeant Ryan Morgan, United States Air Force, currently stationed in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Second Lieutenant Kyle (Isabella) Morgan, United States Air Force, currently stationed in Pensacola, Florida. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The visitation for Clifford F. Mahoney will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., located at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematorium, 530 West Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois 60440. A chapel servive will proceed immediately after the visitation, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Fr. Pat Murphy presiding. Military honors presented by the United States Army and his committal service will conclude Mr. Mahoney's funeral services at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Road, Elwood, Illinois 60421.
