Curtis Wayne Damp, died on December 29, 2022 at the age of 88 years old. His family is in grief
over his loss. Curtis is deeply missed by his wife Jean Damp of 65 years; as well as their three children
Micheal, Carol, and Mitchell. In addition, Curtis will be missed by his six loving grandchildren, Britney,
Melanie, Michelle, Rebecca and Rachel and great grandchildren Connor and Jayla.
Curtis was born on August 6th 1934 by Velma and Carter Damp in Aledo, Illinois. He also had a
brother Ken, and sister Carolyn, who he loved dearly. Curtis started out his career in the United States
National Guard. After his time served, he met Jean O'Neil and married in 1957 at the Sacred Heart
Church in Moline, Illinois . He then moved to Burbank, Illinois an worked for General Electric, raising a
family of three kids with his wife. Curtis was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing in his free time. He loved
spending time with his family and friends. After his kids grew up, he eventually moved to Louisville,
Kentucky with Jean. They lived there for 33 years. Curtis enjoyed gardening and had a special interest in
humming birds. He would love to sit in his sunroom and watch them pass by along the window.
Curtis was a wise man who always put others before himself. He was very insightful, and cared
unconditionally for his family as amazing father, grandfather and husband. Curtis will be laid to rest at
Calvary Cemetery in Rock Island Illinois.
