In Loving Memory of Curtis Pope, of Berwyn, Illinois – October 31, 1947 to June 16, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of beloved father, brother, and friend, Curtis Pope at the age of 75. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy that will forever be remembered by those who had known him.
Born in a small farming community of Terry, Mississippi, Curtis later made his home in Berwyn. Illinois. He was a man of many passions, finding joy in music, playing the piano, sports, and indulging in the magic of movies. His vibrant spirit and love for life were contagious as was his smile.
Throughout his life, Curtis devoted over 30 years of service as a manager at a printing company. His commitment and work ethic were exemplary, earning him the respect of both colleagues and subordinates. As a boss, he was patient and ready to lend a helping hand or offer guidance.
Family meant the world to Curtis, and he leaves behind a legacy of love. He is survived by his daughters, Treta and Sharon, who will forever cherish their memories of playing sports and his instilling in them that any goal is within reach. He was the former husband of Pearl, who was the mother of his children. They were first friends as teenagers and remained so until his death. Curtis also leaves behind his brothers, Melvin, Jr.(Billy), Jimmy, and sister Dorothy Jean, as well as nieces and nephews, cousins, and a large extended family. Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys (Wolfe), father, Melvin, Sr., and his sister Dora (Wanda). Their memories will forever be treasured alongside his.
In the final chapter of his life, Curtis found comfort and love with Kathy. Their bond was strong and their love brought solace and joy to his later years.
Let us remember him for the amazing father, the cherished friend, and the patient boss he was. May Curtis Pope rest in eternal peace, knowing that he made a lasting impact on the lives of all those he encountered and loved him.

It is hard to imagine how different life is going to be for us, but we are thankful we have the support of treasured family and friends like you.
The visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 30, 2023, from 2pm until 5pm at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 5:00p.m. Interment private.
