David A. Zahller was the beloved husband of Sue (nee McGrath), proud father of Kelly, cherished son of the late James and the late Agnes Zahller, nephew of Gene Cherney, dear brother and brother-in-law to Steve (Mary) Zahller, Mary Jo Casto, Tim McGrath, and Chris (Laura) McGrath, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews, cousin and friend to many.

David was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He enjoyed his Big 10 football. He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially during his time as a park ranger for our National Parks system. As a ranger in California, he then proposed to his wife at the Golden Gate National Park. As he transitioned into a financial advisor, David passed on his soft spoken, calm, and genuine demeanor; one who never complained about anything. He was also remembered for his long voicemails. Known as an 'elevator friend,' he would talk with anyone, and by the end of it, gain a new friend. Most importantly, David was an extremely proud father. His daughter, Kelly, was his everything. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. located at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 8404 South Cass Avenue, Darien, Illinois 60561. Interment private.
