Donald Edward Zglobicki's Obituary

Donald Edward Zglobicki, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 21, 2024 at the age of 79. He was born in Chicago on December 7, 1944 to Henry & Jeanne and was one of 5 siblings: Gladys (deceased), Hank (deceased), Darlene (Joe), and Donna (John). He lived a life full of love and laughter that will be cherished forever.

Don was a devoted husband to Mary Lou, whom he shared 51 years of marriage with. He was an avid supporter of her pioneer ministry for over 27 years. He was known for his generous heart, always making sure his friends were supplied with refreshments. He was a pillar of support and comfort to his children: Melissa and Kathy (Javan). His grandchildren Ciara, Michael, Trenise, and Angelia brought immense joy to his life and he took great pride in their accomplishments. His great grandchildren Elias, Melina, Louie, and Chance kept him on his toes!

A man of many interests, Don enjoyed music and expressed that during his younger years as the drummer in a band. In 1971, he began his lifelong career at Added Sales Company where he met his lifelong love, Mary Lou. He loved selling merchandise at various flea markets, where the family made a lot of memories together. He spent many family vacations in Door County and at the Wisconsin State Fair where he always had room for one more cream puff. After he retired, his daily routine consisted of grabbing a coffee at Dunkin, then walking at least 5 miles a day. He was also kept busy in his role as the favorite fan at every one of his grandkids' sporting events, especially volleyball.

Don will be remembered for his smile and peculiar humor that left an impression on everyone he met. His legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him. He believed in Jehovah, prayed to him regularly and looked forward to the promise of a resurrection.

A memorial service to celebrate Don's life will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 310 Dupage Drive in Bolingbrook, IL on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 4pm, with a visitation beginning at 3pm.

Don's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends until we see him again.

Arrangements entrusted to McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematorium.
