Dvonna L Alley's Obituary

Dvonna (Dee) Lydia Alley, age 87, a resident of Bolingbrook, IL since 1970, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was born March 31, 1936 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Paul and Caroline Volle. Dee grew up with her two siblings in the Chicago suburbs and attended Moody Bible Institute, where she met Tom Sullivan. They married and had three children. Following the splitting up of the marriage, Dee reared her three children with the support of the local church and wisdom from the Lord. She was quick to point out that her strength to do so was found in the LORD. "Casting all your care on Him, for He careth for you." I Peter 5:7

Dee worked in the registration office at the College of DuPage for most of her career. She enjoyed meeting the students and working with her colleagues. At the age of 79 she married Scott Alley, who also shared her love for the Lord. She loved singing and playing the piano and organ for church, as well as a ministry at DuPage Convalescent Center. She was always concerned about friends and neighbors, praying for them, visiting them and sharing her love for the Lord. Her missionary brother and sister-in-law commented, "Dee was a special sister. Her kindness, thoughtfulness and visit to us in Italy will be remembered fondly. Her love was shown in many ways which we appreciated."

Dee is survived by her husband Scott, five children, David (Christine) Sullivan of Bolingbrook, IL, Kevin (Lynda) Sullivan of Watertown, WI, and Beverly (Luis) Keelin of Due West, SC, Jenny Dudasik of Glendale Heights, IL, Carol (William) Melton of Clermont, FL, 6 grandchildren, Meghan (Josh) McBride, Tyler Sullivan, Keeley Sullivan, Ian Sullivan, Matthew Melton, Tori Melton and a great grandson, Derek McBride. She is also survived by two siblings Marilyn Heidebrink and Paul (Nesta) Volle, as well as, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Independent Baptist Church, 380 West Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, IL 60440.
