Edward M. DuBina , U.S. Army Veteran , passed away peacefully December 16th, 2024.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home with family surrounding him with love. Born on December 22, 1941, Edward was a dedicated family man, husband to Lydia McDermott, and proud father of Paul R. DuBina (Tiffany Rehrer). He was the cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to one.
Edward served his country honorably as a decorated Vietnam War veteran with the 173rd Airborne Brigade where he received a Bronze Medal and Purple Heart. His commitment to service and leadership extended to his early years, where he earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
Professionally, Edward was an accomplished electrical engineer, spending much of his career with Lucent Technologies (now Nokia), where he made significant contributions to the telecommunications industry.
Outside of work, Edward embraced life with a passion for adventure. He was an avid world traveler, sailor, and skilled woodworker, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His generosity, warmth, and spirit of service touched the lives of many.
He will be remembered for his boundless love for his family, his dedication to helping others, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
Edward will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation Thursday December 19th, from 9:30 am until time of service at 12:00pm at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home 530 W. Boughton Rd. Bolingbrook, IL. 60440.
Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 2:00pm.
