Elia Madrigal, 51 years old, of Romeoville, Illinois died at 3:05AM in hospice care after a courageous battle with liver cancer.
Devoted wife to Jose Cerda. Mother of 3 beautiful children Sergio, 22 years old, Eliana,17 years old and Vanesa, 11 years old.
Elia was born on September 19, 1972 to parents Abad and Miguel Madrigal. Sister to 6 brothers Joel, Misael, Jesus, Miguel, Freddy, Alex and 3 sisters Sucy, Nere and Hilda.
Elia immigrated to the United States at 9 years old from Mexico. She worked as medical assistant at Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center. Elia had a great work ethic and worked extremely hard to provide a better life for her children. Elia along with her husband Jose wanted their children to have everything they needed.
No one who met Elia Madrigal forgot her infectious spirit, her compassion and heart of gold. Elia had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. She worked at Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center helping cancer patients everyday. Always making them smile and making sure their experience would be a good one. Her patients always remembered her compassion and care. Unfortunately, she had become the patient at this same cancer center she worked for.
Elia was always up for a good joke and lived her life with gratefulness and passion for life. She was kind hearted always putting others before herself. She was quick with a smile and a hug. Elia had a warm personality which made people feel comfortable with her right away.
Elia set an example and was an inspiration to all of us as she truly lived life to the fullest.
Elia loved her family and always wanted the best for everyone especially for her mother, brothers and sisters.
Elia will always be remembered by her precious family who loved her deeply.
Above all she truly valued her friends and family.

The Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., located at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 530 West Boughton Road, Bolingbrook Illinois 60440.
