Emilio Aguilar llegó a este país sin más que determinación y buen corazón, y a lo largo de su vida construyó una familia, un hogar y un legado de trabajo duro que perdurará más allá de su propia vida.

Nació el 5 de abril de 1952 en México, donde la tierra y sus ritmos lo moldearon desde temprana edad. Finalmente emigró a Estados Unidos y se estableció en Bolingbrook, Illinois, donde vivió el resto de su vida.

Durante más de 35 años, Emilio trabajó en la construcción, levantándose antes del amanecer, sin escatimar esfuerzos ni quejarse jamás. Era duro, como suelen ser los hombres que se lo han ganado todo. Pero quienes mejor lo conocían sabían que, bajo esa fuerte personalidad, había un corazón verdaderamente bondadoso. Hizo todo lo posible por quienes lo rodeaban.

Fuera del trabajo, Emilio encontraba su vida en el jardín. Disfrutaba cuidando las plantas y los árboles, viéndolos crecer. Era allí donde dejaba de lado su carácter duro y afloraba con mayor claridad su lado más sensible.

Le encantaba la orquesta. Le encantaban los Beatles. Y, en una de sus cualidades más sutiles enseñaba inglés a amigos y familiares cantando juntos. Convertía el idioma en música y el aprendizaje en algo alegre. Así era Emilio. Siempre encontraba la manera.

Era un hombre de fe cristiana, pero no perfecto. Sin embargo, era honesto, presente y se preocupaba profundamente por los demás. Influía en quienes lo rodeaban no solo con palabras, sino también con el ejemplo: estar presente, trabajar duro y perseverar.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa de 45 años,Francisca; sus gemelos Virginia y Josué; su hijo David; sus nietos Xavier y Dominic.

Emilio Aguilar vivió 74 años. No era un hombre perfecto, pero sí tenía muy claro lo que realmente importaba. Su risa, su jardín, su música, su carácter fuerte y su gran corazón serán profundamente extrañados.

Emilio Aguilar came to this country carrying nothing but determination and a good heart, and over the course of a lifetime he built a family, a home, and a legacy of hard work that will outlast him.

He was born on April 5, 1952, in Mexico, where the land and its rhythms shaped him early. He eventually made his way to the United States, settling in Bolingbrook, Illinois, where he lived out the rest of his days.

For over 35 years, Emilio worked in construction, up before sunrise, never one to cut corners, never one to complain. He was tough in the way that men who have had to earn everything tend to be. But those who knew him best knew that underneath that strong character was a genuinely good heart. He did the best he could for everyone around him.

Away from work, Emilio came alive in the garden. He enjoyed plants and trees, tending them and watching them grow. It was perhaps where the harder edges fell away and the gentler man beneath showed through most clearly.

He loved the orchestra. He loved The Beatles. And in one of the most quietly beautiful things about him, he taught English to friends and family using sing-alongs. Turning language into music, and learning into something joyful. That was Emilio. He found a way.

A man of Christian faith but he wasn't perfect. However, he was honest, he was present, and he cared deeply. He shaped the people around him not through words alone but through example; show up, work hard, and keep going.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Francisca; his twins Virginia and Josue; his son David; his grandsons Xavier and Dominic.

Emilio Aguilar lived 74 years. He was not a man without flaws, but he was a man without doubt about what mattered most. His laugh, his garden, his music, strong willed, and big hearted; will be deeply missed.
