Obituary

George Gozdziak, son of the late Vincent and Adeline Gozdziak, was born on August 22, 1947 and passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025 at the age of 77.

Loving father of Jennifer Hodges, Victoria (Jeff) Engel, Elizabeth Coglianese and Vincent Gozdziak; dear grandfather of Austin, Abigail, Devin, Troy, Madelyn, Tyler, Hailey, Emma, Alice and Jordan; fond brother of the late LaVergne "Cookie" Gozdziak.

George also known as "Eda" to his grandchildren lived in Cicero and attended Morton West High School. He later moved to Naperville where he raised his family. George had many hobbies and passions that he shared with his children and grandchildren. He was known as the "jack of all trades" throughout his life. He was a carpenter, Mr. Fix It for just about anything, a mechanic and owner of a deli and inventor of Roof Lock.

He was known for his love for woodworking building many beautiful pieces that he shared with family and friends. He built himself a woodshop where he spent many hours creating new masterpieces. George also loved his model train and coin collections.

George had a love for Hot Rods, specifically his 1940 Ford Coupes and enjoyed spending time working on them for all of his adult life. He would often take his kids and head to cars shows with them on the weekends.

He loved animals, especially dogs but also cared for other animals along the way. The Gozdziak home always had a pet or animal that was a part of the family. "Tickles" will miss him greatly as they were always together until the end and he wouldn't let George go anywhere without going along for the ride.

George and his late sister "Cookie" loved to spend time at the cottage and he always wanted that love for being at the lake to be shared with others. He enjoyed spending time boating, fishing and being around family.

George always appreciated a sweet treat from a bakery and in more recent years learned how to make Packzis with his family.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart and generous spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and countless memories.
