In Loving Memory of Harpal Singh

December 16, 1963 – July 8, 2026

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Harpal Singh, who passed away on July 8, 2026, at RML Specialty Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Harpal was born on December 16, 1963, in Punjab, India. She experienced the loss of her mother at the young age of three and was lovingly raised by her father. In 1979, her paternal uncle and aunt, the late S. Shivraj Singh Nijjar and Richhpal Kaur, sponsored Harpal and her father to immigrate to Chicago, where they began a new chapter of their lives.

Harpal became a cherished member of her extended family, spending many years helping care for her nieces and nephews as they grew up. Her kindness and quiet support will be remembered with gratitude.

In 1989, Harpal married Kanwar Raj Singh in Chicago. They shared their lives together until his passing on February 15, 2003.

Harpal had a love for cooking and enjoyed watching movies with family and friends. She found happiness in simple moments spent with those she cared about. She also dedicated herself to caring for others through her work as a Special Care Assistant, a role she held until her illness.

The Nijjar, Randhawa and Gill family extend their condolences to all who knew and loved her. Although Harpal leaves behind no immediate surviving family of her own, she will be fondly remembered by her extended family and all those whose lives she touched through her kindness, compassion, and quiet strength.

Her memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May Waheguru bless her soul. ‎

Harpal's visitation and funeral service will take place on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., located at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematorium, 530 West Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois 60440. Cremation ceremony will immediately proceed at 1:00 p.m. and will conclude her funeral services at the funeral home.
