Hedwig Marie Iovito (nee Foster) passed away at the Bria of Westmont on January 21, 2025 in Westmont, Illinois. She was 75 years old. Hedwig was born on September 30, 1949, in Hammond, Indiana to Raymond and Dorothy Foster. She graduated from St. Rita School of the Deaf in Ohio
Hedwig married her childhood classmate, Richard Emil Iovito, Sr., at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill on July 9, 1977 and lived in Bolingbrook, Illinois, for most of her adult life. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially with deaf Catholic groups. Her two grandsons were everything to her and loved every moment of being a grandma.
Hedwig is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard, her parents, and brother, Fr. Ray Foster. She is survived by her son Richard Emil Iovito Jr. (Gretchen Gooding); and two grandsons, Henry and James. Hedwig is also survived by three brothers, Dan (Rena) Foster, Chris (late Terry) Foster, and Jim (Susie) Foster, her sister, Julie (Gregg) Sunday, numerous nieces and nephews.
The morning visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., located at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1501 West Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois 60490. Her funeral mass will follow the morning visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Her burial will be private.
