Obituary

Irene Awurama Eshun AKA Irene Awurama Cobbina was born on Saturday, September 11th 1971 to Mr. Moses Cobbina and Elizabeth Armah in Tarkwa in the Western region of Ghana. Irene spent her early childhood with her grandmother while her mom and dad were living out of the country. She started her elementary education at the Presbyterian school in Tarkwa and later attended the St. Mathew school of commerce in Tarkwa. She then continued her professional education at the Snaps Secretarial and commercial Institute in Takoradi to pursue her diploma in shorthand and secretariat. After her graduation, she worked with the Social Security bank consumer services in Tarkwa but she wanted to own her business so she enrolled in ITTU at Cape Coast to acquire training and certification in Tie & Dye and Batik designs and production.

After graduation, she got married to her husband Ebenezer Eshun in 1994, not long after she had her 2 beautiful children. She then said to herself that working for people was not her thing so she set up her own beauty supply shop and later on opened a communication and graphic design and printing business in Tarkwa.

In 2002, they moved their business to Accra and started their graphic design, printing and a mining supply company. In 2004 she moved to the USA with her family and God blessed her with two more kids.
She valued hard work and diligently saved with her spouse to put her two oldest children through college without student loans. She valued education and taught her children how education is an important possession that no one can take away from them.

While in the states she started her own graphic design and printing business from home and also pursued training in fashion design and sewing. Some of her favorite hobbies were gardening, trying new recipes, traveling, listening to music, watching movies, singing, dancing and all around exploring new things.
Irene was selfless and always willing to take care of people and help the needy.

Irene was a great woman of faith and prayer and loved the things of God and was always pressing to acquire sound doctrine. She embraced the doctrine of grace and lived and enjoyed the freedom and liberty found in Christ Jesus. She was saved and understood that absence from this body is present with the Lord so we know beyond all reasonable doubt that she is at peace and in glory with the Lord.

Her favorite verse is A PSALM OF DAVID - "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalms 27:1 KJV), even when she was sick she was fearless.

Left to carry on her legacy, her loving husband Ebenezer Eshun, father Moses Cobbina, mother Elizabeth Armah, two brothers, Roland Elijah Mann, Sixtus Cobbina, three sisters Lydia Cobbina, Golda Cobbina and Olivia Cobbina, four children Bernard Kojo-Atta Eshun, Audrey Akua-Tawiah Eshun, Isaac prince Eshun and Ariel Faith Eshun, In-laws Mama Angie Eshun Kesse, Joana Eshun Sekyi-Appiah, Jennifer Amonoo-Harrison (Eshun), Pastor Bob Eshun, Paapa Eshun, Joseph Eshun Nieces Jane Rita Eshun, Abigail Kesse, Emmanuela Kesse, Deborah Kesse, Nieces & nephews in Ghana; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
