Obituary

The family of James (Jimmy) A. Koukalik of Lisle, Il is saddened to announce that he passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025 at 50 years old. Jimmy was born in Winfield, Il on June 24, 1974 to Richard and Beverly Koukalik. Jimmy grew up in Bolingbrook and graduated from Bolingbrook High School in 1992. He continued his education at College of DuPage earning his civilian Pilot Certification which allowed him to pursue his passion for flying. While Jimmy had many different jobs throughout his life, he loved his final job in information technology at University of Chicago Medicine. He is survived by his beloved daughter Emma Koukalik, his parents Richard and Beverly Koukalik of Plainfield, his sister Juli Coughlin (James) of Bolingbrook, and his brother Joseph Koukalik (Heather) of Fate, Texas as well as his nieces and nephews Mitchell Coughlin of Smithfield, Utah, Shannon, Blake, Connor, and Kelli Coughlin of Bolingbrook, Il, and Johnathon and Ashley Koukalik of Fate, Texas. Jimmy was known first and foremost for his love and adoration of his only child, Emma. He also loved flying his Piper Cherokee and meeting members of his breakfast club. Jimmy always had a big smile on his face and a huge, booming laugh that would light up a room. Fly high with the eagles, Jimmy!

A celebration of life will take place at Charlie's restaurant 130 Clow International Airport Pkwy Bolingbrook, Il 60490 on March 8, 2025 from 3pm-6pm.
