Janice Maria Arnold was born on October 18, 1939 in Chicago, IL. She was the 4th child in the union of James and Dora Tribett.

She attended and graduated from Wendell Phillips High School in 1958, and she attended Wilson Jr. College and Northwestern University. Janice aspired to be a nurse, but when she fainted at the sight of blood in an operating room, she discovered that nursing was not the field for her. However, God in His infinite wisdom knew that her calling was to minister to the lives of young children and their families which ultimately lead her to childcare where she touched so many lives with her love, care, and joy. Janice had such a generous spirit, she would literally give the shirt off her back if someone needed it.


She was married on April 12, 1964 to David Arnold Jr. and to that union were born three children.

Janice confessed Christ at the early age of 12 years old, and spent the years afterward serving God in various capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and Mothers' Board.

One of her greatest gifts was her ability to love and encourage others. She had a kind heart, warm smile, and she instantly became friends with everyone she met. She was an amazing cook whose sweet potato pie and homemade ice cream was the best this side of The Mason Dixon Line.
One of the best things she did as a mother was to introduce her children to The Lord and to be a never-ending example of how to walk with God in all things, at all times. She was a prayer warrior, and for all intents and purposes, she was "Our" "incredible - unsinkable Molly Brown".

On May 12, 2024, Janice answered her Heavenly Father's call to come home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dora Tribett, Siblings; Lois Douglas, Lorraine Price, and James Tribett Jr., and Son in Law, Lamont Beard.

She leaves to celebrate her life and mourn her passing (3) children; Dr. David L. Arnold (Dolores), Deonne Beard, and LaShawn Weathersby (Patrick), (3) Siblings; Patricia Robertson, Theodore Tribett, and Sandra Clark (Donald), (5) Grandchildren; Taylor Beard, Stephen Weathersby, Daniel Weathersby, Morgan Beard, and David Arnold IV, a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.

Memorial Visitation Thursday, May 23rd, from 12:00pm-3:00pm at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home 530 W. Boughton Rd. Bolingbrook, IL. 60440.
