After a 9-month battle with stage 4 lung cancer, Janis Martin, 63, of Bolingbrook, IL, passed away
peacefully on December 11, 2022, with her husband at her bedside. Janis was born on March 28, 1959,
to Catherine Moody (nee Chlupsa) and the late James Moody. Janis had recently retired from the United
States Postal Service after dedicating 35 years of service to her community, a career where she would
eventually meet her husband, Terrence Martin.
Janis will be remembered for her love of gardening and travel as well as her unabashed love of her dog
Sonny. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's various activities, sporting events, and musical
performances.
Janis is survived by Terrence, her loving husband of 31 years, her children, Renee (Jeffery) Carrano,
Rachel (Devin) Browning, stepdaughter Jennifer (Dustin) Spinazola, as well as her grandchildren Tyler,
Aubree, Gabriel, Madison, Mikayla and McKenzie. Sister to Jim Moody, Jacqueline Moody, & Julie
(Thomas) Pianovski. She will live forever young in our hearts and will be loved and missed dearly.
