Joy Eileen Kotval, age 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerry Kotval, cherished daughter of the late George and the late Edna Holterman, loving mother of the late Jeffrey, late Donna (Frank) DuPree, bonus son, Michael (Irene), Joy, and Jodi (Raymond), beloved grandmother of Chad, Trisha, Nicole, Isabella, Cody, Austin, Chelsea, Adam, and Taylor, adored great-grandmother of 3, dear sister of the late Carol, fond aunt of Robin, Holly, Kim, and Truus, proud dog-mom to the late Sadie, cousin and friend to many, and missed by all.
Joy was known for her extraordinarily kind heart. She participated in Meals on Wheels for over 27 years with her husband, Jerry. She dedicated a lot of her time and efforts to others, especially when sponsoring our youth. She helped so many children in need over the years. Her selflessness will never be forgotten. Joy's dedication to her religion and church was another landmark of hers. She was a long-standing member of the New Life Lutheran Church right here in the town of Bolingbrook. Joy was creative and known as an artist, a well-versed individual. According to 'some,' she was a constant 'cheater' when playing Dominoes. Joy was always known for her quick wit and comical demeanor. She will ultimately be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family is politely requesting for family and friends to make a donation in Joy's honor to the ASPCA or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
