Judith Lynne Belva (née Armbruster), age 83, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, passed away on March 22, 2026.
She was born on May 30, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Mildred and Gilbert Armbruster, and was raised in Chicago.
In her youth, Judith attended Taft High School. A fun and little-known fact about her early years is that she and her close-knit group of friends helped inspire the "Pink Ladies" portrayed in the beloved movie Grease.
After meeting the love of her life, Brian Belva, the two eloped on December 5, 1962, beginning a devoted marriage filled with love and shared experiences.
Judith found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time bowling with friends, traveling on cruises, and making cherished memories with her family in Lake Geneva. Those trips became a special tradition, where she later brought her daughters and grandsons, creating lasting moments they will forever treasure.
When Brian and Judy moved to Naperville in 1992, they began a beloved Christmas tradition, decorating their home with elaborate displays inspired by the Macy's holiday windows, complete with festive characters. Their home became a neighborhood showcase, drawing visitors each season. Through this tradition, they also raised money for Make-A-Wish Foundation benefitting sick children, combining their creativity with a spirit of generosity. This cherished tradition continues today through her daughters.
Judith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Brian Belva, and her sister, DeLoris (Lawrence) Cernauskas.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Beverly (James) Wickey and Victoria (Craig) Dixon; and her cherished grandsons, Forrest (Gabriella) Marcinowski, James Dixon, Frank Dixon, and Brandon Wickey. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Judith will be remembered for her love of family, her strong spirit, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Alleluia Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a service at 3:00 p.m.
Alleluia!
