Retired MSgt Leroy E. Greiman, age 91, of Bolingbrook,
passed away peacefully March 11th, 2024, at the Illinois Veterans Home of La Salle.
He was born on 7-16-1932 in Hoyleton, IL. He is survived by his wife, Judith (nee Dallner) whom he married on 12-9-1989.
Leroy is also survived by his daughter (retired MSgt) Cynthia, of Red Oak, TX and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Edward Sr. and Lena, his son William, brothers Elmer and Edward Jr.
Leroy began his military career in the Army Guard, serving 3 years with the 44th Infantry before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 where he trained and served in the Air Police. He then enlisted in the IL Air National Guard, Chicago IL, along with his son and daughter, in March 1975, retiring in July 1992.
Leroy was privileged to have attended the Honor Flight Chicago in 2017, taking a trip to Washington D.C. to be honored for his service during the Korean War.
Leroy lived in Hoyleton IL, attending Centralia High School until his enlistment in the Air Force. He attended college at Southern IL University and completed several specialized courses studying in Electric Engineering.
Memorial Visitation will take place Tuesday, March 19th from 10:00am - 12:00pm at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home 530 W. Boughton Rd. Bolingbrook, IL.
Inurnment & Military Honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20953 W. Hoff Rd. Elwood, IL. 60421.
