Lurine Arcena Hild (maiden name Beebe), age 82, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
Lurine was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, and spent her childhood traveling throughout the United States as the daughter of a U.S. Air Force serviceman. Those early years helped shape her independence, resilience, and adaptability—qualities that stayed with her throughout her life.
While living in Dayton, Ohio, Lurine met the love of her life, Russell James Matthew Hild. The two were married in 1966, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, devotion, and shared experiences. Together, they built a family and a life full of memories. Russ preceded her in death in 2022.
She dedicated nearly 30 years of her career to JCPenney, where she worked with pride until her retirement. Even after retiring, Lurine remained active and social, embracing life fully. She loved spending time at the senior center, traveling, attending lunches, and being part of groups where friendships flourished. She had a deep love for dogs and found joy in the simple pleasures of companionship and conversation.
Most of all, Lurine cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her children and grandchildren was unwavering. Her family knew her as kind, funny, feisty, outspoken, strong, and deeply good-hearted. Fiercely independent, Lurine lived life on her own terms and inspired those around her with her strength and spirit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell James Matthew Hild, who passed away in 2022; her son, John Andrew Hild, who passed away in 2025; and her parents, Arcena Pearl Beebe and Ivan James Beebe.
Lurine is survived by her daughter, Stacia Anne Hild; her daughter-in-law, Kristin Hild; her four grandchildren, Emma, Maddie, Kyle, and Chloe; and her three great-grandchildren, Banks, Lottie, and Maven, who brought her immense joy.
An only child, Lurine shared a close and lifelong bond with her cousins, Dennis Beebe, John Beebe, and James Beebe, who were an important part of her extended family and life.
Lurine will be remembered for her sharp wit, loving heart, independence, and the warmth she brought to every room she entered. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will continue through the many lives she touched.
