In loving memory of Marie C. Peña, a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, who peacefully left us at the age of 76. Marie battled with dementia, showing incredible strength throughout her journey. Her vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on May 18, 1947, Marie grew up in Chicago, surrounded by the love of her family. She retired from a career as a Branch Manager after 35 years. Marie's dedication to her work and her unwavering compassion made a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
Despite the challenges posed by dementia, Marie's love for her family, sense of humor, genuine kindness, and gentle nature continued to shine through. She brought comfort, warmth, and joy to those around her and always made sure no one left her house hungry.
Marie's family meant the world to her. She was a devoted wife to her husband Steve for 54 years. As a mother to Stevan Jr., Lisa, and Eric and her grandchildren Christal, Andrew, Suzanne, Gabrielle, Sophia, and Alexander, Marie's nurturing spirit and unwavering support were constant sources of love and guidance.
Marie will be remembered as a warm and caring woman whose legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. While dementia may have taken her memories, it could never erase the impact she made on the lives of her family and friends.
As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember Marie's indomitable spirit and the love she shared with us all. May she find eternal peace, free from the grasp of dementia. In her memory, let us cherish each day, embrace our loved ones, and spread kindness to others, just as she did throughout her life. Rest in peace, dear Marie.
