Michael G. Eck, 66, was the beloved husband of 42 years to Pauline Eck (née Scelsa), cherished son of Anna and the late Karl Eck, and devoted father of Brian, Michael, and Melissa. He was a dear brother to Karl (Michaeliene) Eck, a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend to many. He was also a loving dog dad to the late Comet and Molly.
Michael was deeply passionate about soccer, serving as the proud director of the Bolingbrook Soccer Club, where he established tournament play and mentored countless young athletes. A lifelong sports fan, he rooted for his Chicago teams—the Cubs, Bears, Fire, Blackhawks, and Sting.
Professionally, Michael was an engineering manager at the Weiss-Aug Group for many years. Outside of work, he had a love for trains and a deep appreciation for science fiction. A devoted Star Wars fan, he embraced the dark side with Darth Vader as his favorite Sith Lord, but he was just as much a Star Trek enthusiast. If it was sci-fi, he was watching it.
Michael's warmth, humor, and passion for the things he loved will be deeply missed.
