Peter Ferdinand von Schwedler, age 97, passed away on May 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Peter was the beloved husband to the late Dolores Helene von Schwedler (nee Ristau), cherished son of the late Ferdinand and the late Gladys (nee Gorrie) von Schwedler, loving Dad of Robert (Debra) von Schwedler, Richard (Janet) von Schwedler, and Peter (Dianna) von Schwedler, proud Grandpa and Opa of Erika (Corban) Wood, Alicia (Jonathon) Collins, Olivia von Schwedler, Tracy Whittenhall, Annette Ciro, Sarah (Jason) West, Richard D. von Schwedler, and Rachel (Nathan), dear great-Grandpa and great-Opa of Bruce, Kaylyn, Madison, Michael, Alexandra, Cassandra, Caroline, Justin, Derek, Lukas, John, David, Evelyn, and Amelia, great-great Grandpa and great-great Opa of Isabelle, fond uncle and great-uncle, cousin to many, and missed by all.

Peter's visitation will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m., located at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematorium, 530 West Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois 60440. Chapel service will take place the following day, Friday, May 29, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome at 9:00 a.m. that morning. His Military Honors & Interment will conclude his funeral services at Arlington Cemetery, 401 East Lake Street, Elmhurst, Illinois 60126.
