Rhonda Jean Pappas was the cherished daughter of the late Leonard and the late Marie Neuhring, loving mother of Andrew (Amanda) Pappas and Sarah (Scott) Bovyn, proud grandmother of Mia and Kellan Pappas and Leonard Bovyn, dear sister to Rob (Diane) Neuhring, Marge (Harlan) Baack, Millie (Dan) Godfrey, and the late David Neuhring, fond aunt of many nieces and nephews, and cousin to many.
Rhonda valiantly fought cancer for over 7 years and never once complained about things. She always rose to the occasion, especially with her treatment. She was always ready to fight with her family by her side. Rhonda's family meant everything to her, stemming from her upbringing in Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) to her family and adult life in Illinois. They will forever be her pride and joy, especially her beautiful grandchildren. She would do anything to create a smile on their faces. She carried that bright spirit to everywhere she came across. She was an extroverted people-person, with the gift of gab. Rhonda also loved country music and the King, Elvis Presley. Tim McGraw headlined her top artists as well. She also loved the beach, which worked out on a special family trip to Pensacola, Florida. As a big Blue Angels fan, the family took a memorable trip down to Florida just to witness a live show. She will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at future dates in both Illinois and Iowa. The service information will be posted when made available.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematorium.
