Rita Rose Murphy, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 72. She was born on August 11, 1953.

Rita was the cherished daughter of the late Elizabeth M. Murphy and Joseph F. Murphy, M.D.

She was a loving mother to her daughters, Alyce Sutko and Genny Sutko. She was a beloved sister to Daniel Murphy; Patricia Stade; Janet Hernandez; Teresa Murphy; Margaret Murphy; Elizabeth Murphy; Kathleen Murphy; Maureen Wood; and Laureen Gertz. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sr. JoAnne Murphy. She was also a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember her with love.

Rita found great joy in art, spending time painting and coloring. She loved to read.

Rita will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, Illinois on Friday, April 17, 2026.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
