Robert (Bobby) Matuzak was born 27 May 1933 and entered eternal life 24 February 2016.
Bobby was a quiet man, a great listener who loved old movies, especially those with John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, or Lauren Bacall to name only a few. He played drums with some of Chicago's finest and traveled with a jazz trio. In his professional life, after music, his listening skills made him a much loved counselor.
He was a committed fisherman, especially on Getty Lake, but never tasted anything he caught. He said 'if it swims, I don't eat it." His wife introduced him to sailing and he spent many happy hours sailing on Lake Michigan and made many friends along those shores. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool and the occasional penny ante poker game.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce and a melded family of 2 sons Erick and Jonathan Matuzak, 2 step sons, Ken Maxwell and Larry Scruggs, and a step daughter Rose Gaines. He is the very proud grandfather of 11 grand children: Robert Borra, Charley Borra, Tina Borra, Colin Gaines, Alton Gaines, Forrest Gaines, Hope Gaines Eltomi, Sean Maxwell, Logan Maxwell, Robert Matuzak, and Teresa Matuzak. He has been blessed with 3 great-grand children: Gabrielle Gaines, Iain Gaines, and Ella Kay Borra.
