Robert J. Sipla, age 90, passed away on April 27, 2026, at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, IL. Born April 5, 1936, enjoying life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Frances Sipla, his sister Nancy Yoss, Niece, Lynn Macander Brother-In-Laws David Rusin and Lenny Rockley. And his cherished five Westies.
Married to Sharon for 58 years. Brother-in-Law to Leanne, Uncle to David (Denise) Rockley, Richard Macander, Joan (Frank) Elton, Ann (Michael) Robinson. Great Uncle to Joseph and Margaret Elton, Allison (Brandon) Long, and Daniel (Zoe) Rockley, Great- Great Uncle to Claire and Elise Long.
Attended Morton High School, Berwyn, and received his Chemistry degree at University of Illinois, Urbana. Employed at Hydrosol until retirement. And he was a proud U.S. Army Veteran.
An Avid sportsman, sailing his 32' Lennea on Lake Michigan, his Lund fishing boat, on Canadian Lakes as well as his Power Boat on small Wisconsin Lakes.
He received two Canadian Master Angler Awards, a Marksman Trophy, skilled in Skeet Shooting, experienced some hunting, as well as his enjoyment while ATVing/Snowmobiling. A car enthusiast (especially his Corvette and GTO) A Rail-Road Buff, an avid reader of Stephen King and Science Fiction. Besides attending the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Cubs and Bears games.
Known for his funny "satire" humor and his "Obstinate Stubbornness"!!! A true fix it man, who could fix just about anything.
His spirit lives on - "a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ripple of water, a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day and a reminder that love and life know no boundaries."
A burial for "Bob" will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Elmhurst, IL.
Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
