Robert Joseph Sipla, age 90, proud U.S. Army Veteran passed away on April 27, 2026, in Naperville, IL. Born April 5, 1936, Robert enjoyed life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Frances Sipla, his sister Nancy Voss and his beloved blue Westies.
Married to Sharon Sipla for 54 years. Uncle to David Rockley, Lynn (Richard) Marsden, Joan (Fank) Elton, Ann (Michael) Robinson. Great uncle to Joseph Elton, Allison (Brandon) Long, Margaret Elton, Elaine Lockley. Brother-In-Law to Leanne (Leonard) Rockley. Great, great uncle to Claire, Elise Long.
Robert attended Morton High School and went on to obtain his chemistry degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Robert was a dedicated worker at Hydrosol, Bridgeview, until his retirement. Robert also served in the US Army and was a proud veteran.
An avid sportsman, sailing his 32' Lennea on Lake Michigan, boating with loved ones. Received two Canadian Master Angler Awards, Illinois State marksman trophies, target shooting, some hunting, enjoying ATV's, snowmobiles, car enthusiast (especially his Corvette and GTO), RR Buff, avid reader of Stephen King, the CSI and science fiction.
A member of numerous clubs, and a chess club and car fan (until recently).
Known for his funny "satire" humor and his stubbornness! A true fix it man, who could fix just about anything.
His spirit lives on - a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ripple of water, a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day and a reminder that love and life know no boundaries.
A burial for Robert will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Elmhurst, IL.
Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
