Ruben Dungo de Jesus, age 87, a resident of Bolingbrook, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, surrounded by family at home. He was born on July 17th, 1938 to Emilio and Policarpia de Jesus in Pagsanjan, Laguna, Philippines.

In 1969, he migrated to the United States and settled in Chicago, IL, where he met the love of his life, Rowenna, while working at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center. They were married on December 4th, 1971, at St. James Catholic Church in Chicago, IL, and had 3 children, Joseph Kevin, Emilee (Lex), and Rose.

He enjoyed bowling as a member of the Filipino Friendship Society and Lucena bowling leagues and watching sports, especially boxing. Most of all, he took pleasure in ballroom dancing with his beloved wife.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents; two younger brothers, Carling (Estela) and Alfredo "Fred" (Tita); and nephews Joseph "JayVie" de Jesus and Anthony Villa.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rowenna; son, Joseph Kevin; daughters, Emilee (Lex) Laxa and Rosita "Rose" de Jesus; three grandchildren, Marisa and Christian Laxa; and Tyler de Jesus; three younger sisters, Corazon, Fe, and Antonieta "Annie" (the late Venancio) Villa; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 PM at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematorium, 530 West Boughton Rd., Bolingbrook.

Funeral services will begin Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 AM Mass of Catholic Burial at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1501 W. Boughton Rd., Bolingbrook.

Interment: Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Naperville.
