Rudolph "Rudy" G. Albrecht's Obituary

Rudolph 'Rudy' G. Albrecht, 73, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Rudy was born on August 3, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois. In 1997, he relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he made his home for the past 29 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Rebecca Albrecht; his children, Timothy Albrecht and his wife Morgan, Kathryn Kempton and her husband Matthew, and his cherished grandchildren, Campbell and Park Albrecht & Joceyln Kempton. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Krob and her husband Greg, along with their children, Jennifer, Jessica, and Jamie.

Rudy dedicated much of his life to service and hard work. He began his career at the age of 18 in 1969 with the Clarendon Hills Fire Department. In 1979, he joined the Tri-State Fire Department, where he served as a Lieutenant until 1997. Alongside his commitment to the fire department, Rudy also continued to work full-time at Eastman Kodak from 1970 until his retirement in 2014. His career with Kodak ultimately brought his family to Fort Collins, CO through a relocation in 1997.

Rudy had a lifelong passion for the fire department, with a special love for fire trucks and trains. He also found joy in spending time outdoors, often "fiddling" in the yard—something those who knew him will fondly remember. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took great pride in his family.

The visitation will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m., located at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will proceed the visitation and begin at 11:00 a.m., at St. Scholastica Catholic Church, 7800 Janes Avenue, Woodridge, Illinois 60517. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, 7201 Archer Road, Justice, Illinois 60458.

Rudy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
