Vernelle Harris was the beloved daughter of the late John and the late Mahala Cannon, devoted sister to John, Jr. (Katherine) Cannon, Norma (late Ley-von) Snow, and Yvonne (late Donald) DeVold, treasured aunt of Laconda (Danny) Hall, William (Shonta) Cannon, Bryant Cannon, Corey Walker, and Donald DeVold, dear cousin to many, and a lifelong best-friend to Joyce King and Julie (Eric) McClen. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Her visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., located at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 530 West Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois 60440. A chapel service will follow the visitation, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment to conclude her funeral services at Hillcrest Cemetery, 376 East Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois 60440, at 2:00 p.m.
