Zola Ann (Clore) Smith, 61, widow of John Smith, passed away Monday September 23rd, 2024 at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, Illinois.

Born and raised in Downers Grove, IL, the youngest child of school teachers Leonard and Connie Clore graduated from North Central College and became a proud Customer Service Manager, an integral and loved figure at Floor Covering Associates in Naperville where she worked with her son.

Zola's main hobby was her family. Her children Whitney (Kiel McClelland) and Luther (Kaylin), 11 year old grandson Matthew, and expected granddaughter Scarlett Ann, were the light of her life. Making memories at Brookfield Zoo, Johansen Farms, Medieval Times, Disney World, and even white water rafting in Tennessee make for quite the story!

Zola will ultimately be remembered for her selflessness, infectious smile, expert advice, love for family game nights, and so much more.

Zola is survived by her children, grand children, siblings Lee, (Nieces Kathlyn, Margaret, Jacqueline and Nephew Patrick), Gwen, and Gail Clore, mother Connie, cats Texas and Colonel, and grandcats Thumbs, Axel, and Oliver. She was predeceased by her father.

Memorial service will be held Saturday October 19th 2024 at First United Methodist Church 1032 Maple Ave. Downers Grove, IL 60515. Visitation begins at noon in the parlor with ceremony to follow in the Sanctuary at 1pm and more time to gather in the parlor afterward. Internment will be at Clarendon Hills Cemetery with a private ceremony.

Zola believed that a person could live on love. She never wanted a million dollars, only a million memories. She made memories not just for herself, but for everyone's life she ever touched. In her memory, we ask you to, "live on love."

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zola's Memorial Fund to help with expenses for her cats, children, and grandchildren to make more memories.
